“How do I turn this pattern into a repeat?” Our own Ann Hurley will answer that question and many more at our April meeting, where you’ll learn how to design your own fabric!
Please note this important location change:
Join us Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at a temporary location, Ready Set Sew, located at 3444 Ringgold Road in Chattanooga.
Websites like Spoonflower make it possible to design your own fabric for quilting, sewing, and upholstery projects - and also gift wrap and wallpaper!
But to create a successful pattern, you’ll need to understand how to repeat your design.
Ann will show us how, and she’ll discuss other elements of fabric design. Then we’ll look at two methods to create your own fabric: hand printed and digital. She’ll bring examples and provide a special program handout!
If you attended last month’s meeting, please bring the paper quilt block you made in Durinda Cheek’s color theory class.
Bring items for our Free Table
Members are also invited to bring any unwanted books, rulers, notions, etc. to swap on our new Free Table. Put your items on the table for others to take and pick up anything you’d like to take home. We only ask that you take home any of your items that are not claimed by someone else.
Bring your show and tell
Bring your latest projects, WIPs, or a favorite quilt that inspires you. Bring them and share them even if they’re not yet finished!
Guests and new members are welcome
As always, guests are welcome to attend our meeting and learn more about modern quilting. Check out the Meetings page of our website for information about upcoming programs and membership. You can also find us on Instagram @ChattMQG.
We’ll see you on April 13 at Ready Set Sew!
